Wizz Air schedules new Skopje service

Low cost carrier Wizz Air has scheduled a new route from its Skopje base, with three weekly services to Salzburg to commence from April 1. Wizz had previously won a tender for state subsidies for the launch of four new routes out of the Macedonian capital – Ljubljana, Luxembourg, Salzburg and Stuttgart. In September, the carrier launched operations to the Slovenian capital, with Luxembourg to follow next month. Flights to Stuttgart are yet to be scheduled. Wizz Air previously operated between Skopje and Salzburg. The service commenced in the summer of 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic but was discontinued after just one flight as Austria banned entry from a number of countries in the Balkans, including Macedonia. Flights were not restored thereafter. Further flight details can be found here.
