LOT Polish Airlines joined IATA’s 25by2025 program aimed at increasing the professional activity among women in all areas of the aviation industry. LOT Polish Airlines formally joined the initiative at the annual IATA conference in Istanbul. The commitment undertaken by LOT Polish Airlines is a testament to the policy of equal employment, which the national carrier has been following for many years.
At least 25% of women or a 25% increase in the share of women in particular specialist branches. That is the aim pursued by the participants in the 25by2050 program launched by IATA – (International Air Transport Association). Apart from LOT Polish Airlines, the initiative has been joined by 175 airlines all over the world.
LOT Polish Airlines have been following an inclusive employment policy, one that is open to gender balance and diversity, for years now.
Suffice it to say, women constitute 50% of the management board and make up the majority of the carrier’s entire team. Women make up 100% of the Crew Support and Administration Department and 84% of the Cabin Crew Management Office. However, there is still much to do in some departments or areas of the airlines’ operations, which are stereotypically considered “male”: women make up only 3% of the Technical Operations Office and 22% of the Technical Coordination Office.
