Gov’t forgoes $20 million debt by Solomon Airlines

THE Solomon Islands Government has forgone $20 million debts for Solomon Airlines.

It was done in the 2022 Budget.

Minister for Communication and Aviation, Peter Shanel Agovaka, highlighted this at the arrival of the new Solomon Airlines airbus on Thursday.

“In the 2022 budget, we saw it fit to forgo $20 million debts that Solomon Airlines has with the government and that is the big relief for Solomon Airlines,” he said.

Mr Agovaka thanked the Minister for Finance and Treasury, Harry Kuma, for forgo this big amount of debt by the Solomon Airlines.

Solomon Airlines Board Chairman, Frank Wickham said they have been through difficult times and he thanked government for forgoing the debt.
